“Dear children, let us not live with words or speech but with actions and truth.” (1 John 3:18) “Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to them, ‘Go in peace, keep warm and well fed,’ but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action is dead.” (James 2:15-17)
There are so many people in our city and neighborhoods who not only need to hear about the love of Jesus, but who desperately need to experience it. Counterfeit love is what is most portrayed in the world. God’s agape love is the only true love. It is unconditional, going the distance, expecting nothing in return, and accepting others exactly as they are. It is His love that we will share and demonstrate with action.
- We will serve the Bread of Life
“Then Jesus declared, ‘I am the Bread of Life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.” (John 6:35)
The food we serve and everything that God provides us to give away to our neighbors is a bonus. We will show them the way to a new life; And not as superiors, but as equals. We are one beggar showing another beggar where we found the Bread of Life who is Jesus Christ.
